We Heart The Chargers!

Mia and I love the San Diego Chargers (Mia is the REAL fan...I toggle back and forth between the Chargers and the Buffalo Bills).

Just want to give a HUGE shout out to our wonderful AFC West Champs who made our city so proud tonight.

Engagement Photography ~ Beyond the Newspaper Announcement Portrait Session

Photography is a critical component to the wedding day landscape. This is not a progressive notion - the value of great photography is immeasurable as it is that which captures family history.

What IS forward-thinking, however, is the growing popularity of incorporating self and artistic expression in to a couple's engagement session. Although the taking of engagement photographs has always been a common stop on the wedding planning path, its purpose was far more utilitarian in years past. An engagement portrait (commonly just of the bride) would accompany an engagement announcement in the couple's hometown newspaper.

Today, we witness art that captures a couple's passion, individual personalities, and a unified spirit. It is a peek into the minds of those about to say "I do" and those who will document the beauty of that day. It is our pleasure to share with you three engagement sessions of couples we have had the honor of working with this past year, brought to life through the masterwork of lunaphoto, Susie Linquist Photography, and Ventana Photography.

Lindsay Havern to Ken Marschner

The wedding of Lindsay Havern and Ken Marschner was a beautiful experience. Its romantic tenor was coupled with the celebration of family and life, and the masterful skill of John Riedy Photography captured the spirit of a couple, and their families, closely united.

Lindsay began her day enjoying the time-honored tradition of bridal preparation with an air of ease and grace.

Gorgeous personal florals were created in warm fall colors, setting the tone for a celebration rich with seasonal beauty.

(A young ladies pretty pink purse is always appropriate, no matter the season!)
While last-minute preparations were being made for the day's festivities, Lindsay and Ken each sat for portraits that are iconic in essence...

...and fashion-forward in style.

The ceremony alter was adorned with the floral of the day...

...and guests were greeted with stunning programs that mirrored the autumnal environment.

As the ceremony began, the bride's precious nieces escorted her down the aisle...
...and stopped for hugs from "Kenny Ken."
Nuptials poignant and loving.

A marriage rejoiced.

Escort cards shared the same delicious design as the programs.

Guests passed along their best wishes on a bottle of the couple's favorite champagne.

Dinner tables were graced with elegant centerpieces and cards displaying an original work of art created by a friend of the bride. Cards shared the news of a donation made to a non-profit organization as each guest's favor.

Lindsay, Ken, and their guests toasted and celebrated their marriage and the joy of being together as a family.

Lindsay and Ken's mothers, beaming with pride, were pure elegance. Ken and his buddies were pure fun.

Ken and Lindsay...pure passion.
