The Princess Project

Hi Y'all,

We recently received an email from Red Letter Days client and friend, Jenna Gumto, regarding her involvement with The Princess Project, a not-for-profit organization that provides prom dresses to girls who could not otherwise afford them. We think this is a lovely cause, and we want to share its mission and opportunities to support its efforts with you.

Hi Everyone,

I am part of the newest chapter of a wonderful organization called The Princess Project. The Princess Project is an organization which provides prom dresses to girls that could not otherwise afford them. This year is the inaugural year for The Princess Project San Diego and as the summer comes to an end, we are hard at work preparing for our first prom dress and accessory giveaway event in 2009. This year, San Diego intends to serve at least 200+ girls and we need your help!

The Princess Project began in 2002 with one San Francisco site, and since then, over 9,000 Bay Area girls have received new or gently-used prom dresses and accessories through Princess Project giveaway events in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the East Bay during the spring. This year we have added San Diego! The mission of The Princess Project is to promote individual beauty and support high school girls while reusing prom dresses (green living at its best). Here is what one girl had to say about her experience:

"Thanks wouldn't be enough. My parents REALLY couldn't do this for me, even if they wanted to. Thanks, I'd like to help other girls in my situation." – Princess Project participant

I wanted to make a difference in people's lives and that' s why I joined The Princess Project. In order to meet our ambitious goals for 2009 and beyond, we hope that you will join us in this campaign to collect $15,000 -- and help us launch The Princess Project San Diego. Please make your financial contribution to The Princess Project today! Every gift counts – and we are confident that together we will reach our goal of $15,000! A gift of $30 buys a prom dress for a girl in need! A gift of $10 buys a girl the accessories to go with her dress!Every dollar counts.
