Engagement Photography ~ Beyond the Newspaper Announcement Portrait Session

Photography is a critical component to the wedding day landscape. This is not a progressive notion - the value of great photography is immeasurable as it is that which captures family history.

What IS forward-thinking, however, is the growing popularity of incorporating self and artistic expression in to a couple's engagement session. Although the taking of engagement photographs has always been a common stop on the wedding planning path, its purpose was far more utilitarian in years past. An engagement portrait (commonly just of the bride) would accompany an engagement announcement in the couple's hometown newspaper.

Today, we witness art that captures a couple's passion, individual personalities, and a unified spirit. It is a peek into the minds of those about to say "I do" and those who will document the beauty of that day. It is our pleasure to share with you three engagement sessions of couples we have had the honor of working with this past year, brought to life through the masterwork of lunaphoto, Susie Linquist Photography, and Ventana Photography.
